MAKINDE TO GIVE PALLIATIVES TO OYO RESIDENTS FROM ISOLATION

The Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday, said the state commissioner for women affairs and social inclusion, Alhaja Fausat Sanni;
Commissioner for Local Government and chieftaincy matters, Mrs. Funmi Orisadeyi and the commissioner for special duties, Barrister Bayo Lawal are presently working on economic stimulus package for the indigents and the most vulnerable in the state.

Governor Makinde who stated this during a phone-in segment of a Radio Programme in Ibadan, said the stimulus package to be distributed to the less privileged in the State is aimed at alleviating the suffering of the most vinulrable in the society in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.


The governor who noted that the economic stimulus was delayed due to laxity in data, hinted that he has directed those in charge of the package to be transparent and accountable.

Governor Makinde who affirmed that the Oyo state Covid-19 Task Force is doing it’s possible best to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the state, assured the people of Oyo state that Covid-19 will soon be a thing of the past.

He, however, appealed to the resident of Oyo state to support the government in it’s fight against Coronavirus, noting that markets in Oyo state will be reopen and the dusk to dawn curfew will be call off as soon as the government receive a favorable report from the state Covid-19 Task Force.

As at the time of filing this report, the Oyo state Covid-19 Task Force has commenced distribution of preventing materials to the 33 LGAs and 35 LCDAs across the state.
